Miligold Macaws, being a cross between a Blue and Gold Macaw and a Military Macaw, have a very pleasing coloration.  The miligold macaw is great house pet; pictures and photos cannot demonstrate their appealing temperament. These large birds are typical of the Central and South America where they inhabit palm groves and scrublands. This species is one of the best-known family pets among other parrots because of its gentle and even temperament and beautiful plumage. The Blue and Gold is the best known of the Macaws. The black colored beak is different form the Scarlet's horn color. Although the size is about the same as the Scarlet the coloring is different in that the front body is yellow, with the entire rear including the head and wings being a green blue. The face has a whitish skin face mask. They reside in northern  and central america. Their intelligence, gentleness by nature and interactiveness as well as bonding to more then one member of a family make them an excellent choice for a pet.

The African Grey Parrot has been called "the perfect mix of brains and beauty" and the "cadillac of parrots". Much of the notoriety of this species stems from the phenomenal gift of speech members exhibit.  

There are two subspecies:

  • Congo African Grey parrot, Psittacus erithacus erithacus - these are larger birds (about 12 inches/30cm long) with light grey feathers, cherry red tails and black beaks.
  • Timneh African Grey parrot, Psittacus erithacus timneh - these are smaller in size, have a darker charcoal gray coloring, a darker maroon tail, and a light, horn colored upper mandible.

This wonderful species sometimes called the love sponge has white plumage along with a white feathered crest.. Generally the length is 17 to 18 inches. The legs, feet and beak are black. The eye ring is white with a hint of blue. In males the iris is dark brown to black. Red to reddish in brown in females.The tail and undersides of the flight are fused with yellow.The love a Cockatoo gives has no bounds. Handfed babies make excellent pets and are very intelligent.  A domestic Cockatoo can be expected with good care and proper feeding to live 70 to 80 years or more.

The Green Winged Macaw, a beautiful bird, makes a friendly and feisty pet. They are the world's second largest Macaw!

The Green Winged Macaw, or Red and Green Macaw, are less active than other Macaws. They enjoy bathing and should always have fresh water. Green Winged Macaws should be fed a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, greens, grains, nuts, seeds, and a mineral supplement along with peanut butter or other fatty, high-protein treats.

Red and Green Macaws grow to about 26 to 37 inches in length and have a 41 to 49 inch wingspan! They have red plumage with blue back, rump, and tail converts. The bare facial patch is crossed with red feather lines. Green Winged Macaws have green shoulders and inner secondary and median wing coverts; the rest of the wings are blue.  The bill is horn colored and prominent with black edges and a black lower mandible, and the feet are dark gray.

The rose-breasted cockatoo (C. r. roseicapillus), as it is commonly known in the United States, is called the Galah in Australia, its native habitat.  It has a pinkish-red chest and face; medium gray nape, back and wings; a white crest (shorter than that of the other cockatoos in its size group); and a white beak set well into the feathers on its face.

At approximately 14 inches from the top of its head to the end of its squared-off tail, the rose-breasted is among the smallest of the cockatoos, mak­ing it an appealing pet for some­one wanting a cockatoo but without the space to house one of its larger cousins.  The rose-breasted cockatoo makes as good a companion as any of the cockatoos but is not known to be as cuddly as some of its cousins. It can be aloof, but will ap­preciate a head scratch and a great deal of interaction from its human companions.

The Severe Macaw is extremely social and loves to mimic speech and be petted and played with! Best if kept in pairs, Severe Macaws are quite intelligent and should be provided with ropes to swing on and lots of wood to chew, for they can get quite destructive if bored. Forming strong bonds with their keepers, they are affectionate, silly, and active, and love to climb, explore, and hang upside down, chatting and squawking often.

The Moluccan was one of the first to go on the "endangered list" some years ago. They are affectionate and cuddly with some talking ability.The Moluccan Cockatoo Can become very attached to it's owner.It is one of the largest Cockatoo species. The colors range from white to peach.
Moluccans have a reputation of screamers but this does not have to be if you train them from babyhood to entertain themselves and provide toys for their inquisitiveness and intelligence. These birds are very smart and learn tricks easily. A pet Moluccan can be a constant source of entertainment and love.

The male and female Eclectus are very different looking. The male Eclectus are green with a yellowish beak, while the females are a red color with a black beak. Underside of male's wing is bright red with a small patch of blue.

Eclectus make wonderful pets and have excellent talking abilities. They also love to mimic their favorite sounds, such as microwaves, laughter, opera, and sneezing. They are adventuresome and love to explore new places and people. The Eclectus' speaking ability will be dependent upon the individual, its bond with its human, how much time is spent speaking directly to the bird, its health status, age, and a number of other circumstances.

Generally green plumage washed with blue, particularly back and sides of nape; blue to crown extends to nape.  Size: Length 10 inches. They live in  northwest Mexico in Sinaloa, western Durango and southern Sonora..
They are a medium to noisy parrot, very active and like to chew. You should have a good supply of wood and toys handy. They maybe aggressive towards other species.

The suns are a beautiful red/orange/yellow over most of the bird. The wings have a slight green on the wings. The younger birds are more green, and their brighter colors appear after several molts. As with all conures, the Sun has the white skin patch around the eye. Average weight of 100g-120g.

A Goffin's Cockatoo makes a wonderful pet. They don't seem to be as demanding or loud as the rest of the species.  They are about 12 to 13 inches in height with white feathers and head feathers being tinged with pink. The undersides of the tail and wings are yellowish, and the eye ring is naked.
The female cockatoos have a dark reddish brown iris, the males have a black.
They can be located on the Tanimbar Island of Indonesia
